FPC cables (Flexible Printed Circuit) are quite common in the electronics industry and in particular for connecting certain displays, however, for first-time users it is useful to know how to connect them. Shown below:

The first step is to ensure the connector is open. FPC connectors are typically small and not very strong so be careful. The following shows closeup photos of the FPC connector on the Digital View EPM-050 driver board connecting to the E Ink 13.3″ monochrome panel.
The following is a short video showing the connection of the FPC cable from the E Ink 13.3″ monochrome panel to the FPC connector on the Digital View EPM-050 driver board. As shown in the video, with the FPC connector open, gently slide the FPC cable into the connector, then press the locking bar down to secure the cable in place.
